Curios for The Venerable Store of Nell included: a ticket for the Orient Express, a metal trinket, several scraps of paper, a curious symbol, and a postcard.

The ticket for the Orient Express, dated 1896, is for one Randolph Sinclair. Nothing is known of this individual, or if his name is relevant. There are a number of OE advertisements and one article in the same issue.

Known ticket numbers are:

  • 00168
  • 00225
  • 00246
  • 00297
  • 00371
  • 00397
  • 00461
  • 00448

The metal trinket appears to have been forged out of iron, and is bent into a curved shape that is reminiscent of alchemical symbols. It is, in fact, a "Troll Cross", a Scandinavian emblem designed to ward off bad magic.

The scraps of paper are referenced in the New York Socialite column of the paper, as is the postcard. The scraps of paper hold the clue to read the Postcard message.

The curious symbol has not yet been tied to anything concrete, although it is also referenced in the MPC handbook.
